WHO WE ARE

Little Baker’s Academy was created by a mom with a degree in Childhood Psychology who noticed how much children are drawn to  baking, and how many life lessons can be taught along the way. Baking provides ample opportunity for learning and practicing Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Art, as well as the top values that the most successful people in the world possess. Here at Little Baker’s Academy we are focused 100% on the success of the child, both in their baking creations today, and their adult life to come.

STEM learning:

As critical thinking and creative thinking become more and more important, STEM activities provide a safe and fun way for children to explore the concepts of science, math, engineering, and technology in a kid-friendly and fun way. Even if a child never goes into a STEM field as an adult, engaging in STEM activities will encourage problem solving, logical thinking, and creativity in any industry.

Baking naturally creates a perfect backdrop to learn how chemical reactions occur, why an egg cracks so easily in one direction but not the other, that fractions are actually used in the real world, and how the scientific method works. Each week our classes incorporate a hands on STEM learning experience that fits right into what we will be baking that week.

Art:

Art is also incorporated into our classes regularly. Research has proven that art helps develop neural systems that produce a broad spectrum of benefits ranging from fine motor skills to creativity and improved emotional balance. They will find that you can blend the precise nature of baking and science with creativity to create their own masterpieces they will be proud of.

Values:

The top 6 values that the most successful people possess have been researched and applied into class each week with hands on learning activities. Practicing these skills at a young age will help your child hone in on their skills and set them up for a lifetime of success. These values include; OPTIMISM, CREATIVITY, RESILIENCE, SELF-CONTROL, EMOTIONAL AWARENESS, and SOCIABILITY.
